Brilliant, Heineken Executes Original Marketing Campaign

Saw this over on Mashable.com, a video of a brilliant marketing campaign executed by Heineken.

Getting creative, Heineken “won” big with this one… a combination of a unique idea, clean execution, and some upper management that had confidence in the “crazy ideas” of a special marketing team.  Who wouldn’t hire someone that thinks of this stuff and can make it happen?

What soccer (football) fan wouldn’t appreciate Heineken for this?  I’d love to see numbers for Heineken brand recognition after this event (and how much of a positive effect this had, along with information on sales numbers).  I’m sure that information won’t leak for a while (if ever).

Google Sync: Now for the iPhone!

It enables push notifications for contacts and calendars (on both the iPhone and Windows Mobile)!

I’ve been waiting for this one for quite a while.  Currently I used a complex scheme of Outlook, Google Calendar Sync, and still don’t get all the great contact functionality (I could, but it was too annoying to setup — plus I hate all of the useless Gmail contacts).

If you have push notification  enabled on your iPhone, you get push updates.  

This is essentially an extension of the push functionality for Exchange servers.

In looking at the instructions, they say that all of your contacts and calendar information will be deleted.  You should backup your data:
