Help: Google Chrome says, “Your profile could not be opened correctly”
My computer just had a disk problem, I know this because I had to run chkdsk, and there were many errors (time for a new hard drive). Google Chrome had crashed on me while using it to fill out airline information.
After rebooting whenever Google Chrome started up, it would say:
Your profile could not be opened correctly.
Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents.
The fix (that worked for me) is easy.
The Fix
This may not be the solution in all circumstances, but I just had to delete my “Web Data” file. On my computer it was located in:
c:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\
After deleting my “Web Data” file, Chrome would start up again without a problem.

Same thing happened to my dads PC> Did not have time to really give it a look, so I just opened IE and went to Google and downloaded again. Mind you my dads laptop had the latest version anyway. But it worked. took 2 minutes. But I should of looked at what was causing the issue, god knows it will come up again

He he, maybe big brother Google tried to still (“collect”) data about you from your hard disk, but your bad hard disk stopped it.
Anyway i suggest all chrome users to read a little about chrome policy and collecting your surf/search behaviors…
