Steve Jobs to do keynote at WWDC 2010: iPhone 4G to follow, HTML5 authorware?

I saw that Steve jobs will be doing the keynote of the Worldwide Developers Conference 2010.

This can only mean a few things;

  • The new iPhone 4G will be announced (very likely)
  • Apple will move away from AT&T (hopefully, I’m getting doubtful though)

I also believe there will be other announcements regarding development environments for HTML5.  Given Steve Jobs’ strong HTML 5 support over the previous months, and the recent love/hate relationship (mostly hate) with Adobe — something tells me we will be seeing Apple competing with software for HTML 5.

Based on just my general feelings about the industry, I think Apple is going to try to create their own suite of products that match the full functionality of the Adobe suite of products.  Apple has already come out with an Adobe Premier competitor (and many say far superior), Final Cut Pro.

Given that success, and the obvious need for a full IDE for HTML5 if it will ultimately compete with Flash, my money is on a “Flash Professional” for HTML5 within the next year from Apple.  There are still some missing pieces in the iPad Safari experience, and I expect Apple to announce upgrades to Safari within the next year:

  • Multi touch support
  • Animation Infrastructure (similar in capacity to the capabilities of jQuery etc, but … cleaner)
  • Somehow upgraded HTML5 video support (Ogg Theora, VP8 — maybe I’m dreaming with VP8)
